League Cup Final Nuggetz!

Who is excited for the League Cup Final on Sunday?! Anybody else remember when the League Cup was a competition that no one gave a damn about unless they won it? Nowadays people want to act like the Cup That Is Not The FA Cup is important because people win it before Arsenal does. That’s soooooo cute!

The way things go these days though, it seems that clubs in England win a cup only to be relegated soon after (Birmingham City & Wigan Atheltic, e.g.). So if that’s what’s seemingly on tap for the winners of Sunday’s final, here’s to hoping it’s €iteh who wins the League Cup & promptly gets relegated, amirite?!

Despite Sunderland making it to the final of a competition, these are indeed dark days at the club as they face legitimate chance to be relegated & thus enforcing a club name change of Darkdayserland….

€iteh will be the obvious favorites on Sunday despite Manwell Pellecini being recently banned from European matches for the crime of telling the truth about Barcelona & their homoerotic relationships with UEFA referees. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. The ban will not apply to Sunday’s final, however, since the Not Quite Important Unless Arsenal Don’t Win It Cup  is not under the direct jurisdiction of UEFA & thus the Spanish manager will be able to not only attend but enforce his checkbook tactics of throwing out a ridiculously expensive side to face the might of Sunderland’s Goal Machine© that is known as Jozy Altidore. You scoff but in a parallel universe Jozy Altidore is one of the most prolific strikers on the planet & indeed the solar system. Especially seeing as the inhabitants of Jupiter’s moons prefer handball. But I digress…

So, Sunday’s final is a match that pits the might of an oil rich monarchy’s corporate team versus a football club facing relegation. So, there may be some actual sport involved in the final! Huzzah!

Score prediction:
With a seemingly automatic relegation spot on the line for winning the cup, I’ll go with Man €iteh UAE Oil Facility XI 4, Eclipsedsunderland 2

JOZY ALTIDORE scores first goal in minute six, though. Lulz.

LEAGUE CUP ACTION! SO EXCITING I ALMOST CARE…
